Home Based Care Programs There is a need to build Family capacities in Homed Based Care Programs amidst prevailing crises. COVID-19 has exposed the fragility, uncertainty and transition challenges of both the National and County Governments in Kenya to support its citizens during crises. The situation has been made worse by families losing incomes and their livelihoods, reduced work opportunities, apathy to visit hospitals for those with underlying communicable and non-communicable diseases, reduced funding to institutions supporting the vulnerable communities and recent the industry actions where the doctors and nurses going on strike, amongst others. Such crises reveal the need for families to be able to care for themselves and their communities regardless of the presence or absence of external support from the public and private sector .
